Blackfin SCIOPTA Safety RTOS ported to
Analog Devices Blackfin

SCIOPTA Systems AG has ported the safety certified SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating Systems to the Analog Devices Blackfin processors.

The SCIOPTA Blackfin RTOS is specifically tuned for the Analog Devices Blackfin processors. This results in a very high performance and a low memory footprint.
SCIOPTA Blackfin is certified according to IEC61508 SIL3, EN 50128 SIL3/4 and ISO 26262 ASIL D.

Beside the fast Real-Time Kernel there is IPS (Internet Protocols, TCP/IP), IPS Applications (Web Server, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Telnet, TFTP etc.), SFFS (Flash File Systems), USB support, embedded GUI graphics support and the DRUID System Level Debugger available.

SCIOPTA is royalty free and supports actually the Analog Devices CrossCore® Embedded Studio software development platform.


Analog Devices Blackfin Processors

Blackfin Processors are a new breed of 16-32-bit embedded microprocessor designed specifically to meet the computational demands and power constraints of today's embedded audio, video and communications applications. Based on the Micro Signal Architecture (MSA) jointly developed with Intel Corporation, Blackfin Processors combine a 32-bit RISC-like instruction set and dual 16-bit multiply accumulate (MAC) signal processing functionality with the ease-of-use attributes found in general-purpose microcontrollers. This combination of processing attributes enables Blackfin Processors to perform equally well in both signal processing and control processing applications-in many cases deleting the requirement for separate heterogeneous processors. This capability greatly simplifies both the hardware and software design implementation tasks.

The Blackfin Processor family also offers industry leading power consumption performance down to 0.8V. This combination of high performance and low power is essential in meeting the needs of today's and future signal processing applications including broadband wireless, audio/video capable Internet appliances, and mobile communications.

LPC4300 SCIOPTA Safety RTOS ported to
NXP LPC4300

SCIOPTA Systems AG has ported the safety certified SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating Systems to the NXP LPC4300 series dual-core CPUs.

The SCIOPTA LPC4300 RTOS is written in highly optimized assembler and specifically tuned for the ARM Cortex-M4F and ARM Cortex-M0 cores included in LPC4300. This results in a very high performance and a low memory footprint.
SCIOPTA LPC4300 is certified according to IEC61508 SIL3, EN 50128 SIL3/4 and ISO 26262 ASIL D.

Beside the fast Real-Time Kernel there is IPS (Internet Protocols, TCP/IP), IPS Applications (Web Server, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Telnet, TFTP etc.), SFFS (Flash File Systems), USB support, embedded GUI graphics support and the DRUID System Level Debugger available.

SCIOPTA is royalty free and supports actually the C/C++ compilers and environments from GNU GCC and IAR Systems Embedded Workbench. A pre-compiled version of GCC is included on the SCIOPTA CD.


NXP LPC4300 CPU

The aysmmetric dual-core architecture of the LPC4300 series combine an ARM Cortex-M4F and Cortex-M0 coprocessor core so tasks can be strategically partitioned for higher performance and efficiency. Equipped with digital signal processing with the connectivity and simplicity of a MCU and the ability to crunch complex algorithms for data-intensive applications, the LPC4300 provides a seamless upwards migration path from the LPC1800 MCUs for more processing power.

The LPC4300 are ideal solutions for: High-throughput applications requiring fast data-handling peripherals, High-speed digital and/or analog data acquisition, Smart meters, embedded audio, industrial automation, industrial control, telematics, white goods, power management, point-of sale devices, medical devices, and automotive accessories.

It has a 204 MHz, 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 and a 204 MHz, 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 asymmetrical coprocessor, up to 1 MB Flash, up to 264 kB SRAM, two High-speed USB 2.0 interfaces (on-chip high-speed PHY), LCD interface, ethernet MAC, unique Quad-SPI Flash Interface, unique state configurable timer subsystem, unique serial GPIO and up to 164 GPIO.

Certificate SCIOPTA Safety Kernel now also certified
to ISO26262 by TÜV

SCIOPTA Systems AG is announcing the immediate availability of the SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating System certified to ISO 26262 by TÜV Munich for all Microcontrollers supported by SCIOPTA Safety RTOS, to be used in safety related systems up to ASIL D.

SCIOPTA Systems AG is announcing the immediate availability of the SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating System certified to ISO 26262 by TÜV Munich for all Microcontrollers supported by SCIOPTA Safety RTOS, to be used in safety related systems up to ASIL D.

Already certified to IEC61508 (Revision 2, 2010) and EN50128 (Revision 2, 2011) the ISO 26262 certification has been added to support the Automotive industry with state-of-the-art direct message-passing RTOS technology.

The SCIOPTA Safety Kernel has been developed according to: automotive safety integrity level ASIL D (ISO 26262), risk level SIL3 (IEC61508-3) and SIL3/4 (EN50128). It has been tested by TÜV according to: ISO 26262-2:2011, ISO 26262-6:2011, IEC 61508-1:2010, IEC 61508-3:2010, IEC61508-4:2010 and EN 50128:2011.

The SCIOPTA Safety Kernel delivery contains the Certificate, the Certfication Report of Functional Safety and the Safety Manual, which provides guidance on how to safely use SCIOPTA.

SCIOPTA is royalty free and is certified to be used with the IAR ARM C/C++ Compiler, IAR ARM Assembler and IAR ARM Linker
