SCIOPTA Systems AG is announcing the immediate availability of the SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating Systems for the Texas Instrument TMS570 Cortex™ ARM® R4F based MCUs.
The SCIOPTA TMS570 RTOS is written in highly optimized assembler and specifically tuned for the TMS570 processor. This results in a very high performance and a low memory footprint.
SCIOPTA TMS570 is certified according to IEC61508 up to SIL3.
Beside the fast Real-Time Kernel there is IPS (Internet Protocols, TCP/IP), IPS Applications (Web Server, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Telnet, TFTP etc.), SFFS (Flash File Systems), USB support, embedded GUI graphics support and the DRUID System Level Debugger available.
SCIOPTA is royalty free and supports actually the C/C++ compilers and environments from GNU GCC and IAR Systems. A precompiled version of GCC is included on the SCIOPTA CD.
Texas Instruments’s® TMS570
TMS570 Transportation MCUs are the industry’s first ARM® Cortex™-R4F based floating point MCUs that meet IEC61508/SIL3 safety standards. Targeted transportation safety applications include automotive chassis and stability control, electric power steering, hybrid and electric vehicles, aerospace, railway communications, and off-road vehicle engine control.
The TMS570 family integrates dual Cortex™-R4F processors in lock-step and is designed to meet automotive and transportation safety standards. These devices provide system-wide protection through seamless support for error detection from the processor, through the bus interconnect, and into the memories. The TMS570 development process and safety concept has been IEC61508/SIL3 certified by Exida, an independent 3rd party assessor.
TMS570 MCUs also have an integrated high-performance Floating Point Unit (FPU) which can provide both single and double precision. The FPU along with flexible control peripherals simplifies the development of real-time auto coded applications generated from physical based modeling tools.
